Lotusphere and USA travel authorization

I am finally ready with all my Lotusphere bookings. But as it is right now, I'll have to stay in 3 hotels. First 1 night in "Dolphin", then 4 nights in "Port Orleans Riverside" and then 1 night in "Swan". I am on the waiting list for "Port Orleans Riverside", hope that I'll get at least 1 hotel switch less.

When booking the flight ticket, I noticed a warning that from 12 January travelers must electronically register at least 72 hours prior to travel. See below for more info.

Extract:
Effective January 12, 2009, all VWP travelers will be required to obtain an electronic travel authorization prior to boarding a carrier to travel by air or sea to the U.S. under the VWP.

Perhaps I can help. I have a room booked at the Dolphin for the entire week, but I'll only be staying Saturday and Sunday night. Depending on when you arrive and leave maybe you could just use this instead. If you are interested you can e-mail me at charles@cubert.net and we can work out the details.

I now have the first night in Dolphin and then 5 nights in Port Orleans. I haven't stayed in Dolphin before so it can be interesting to see how it is there.

I was not asked for the web-based travel authorization number at the border, I filled in a very similar form on the border. Maybe they did some kind of passport/name search without telling it to me.
